For the past few months my husband and I have been going back and forth about what type of house we want. We’ve explored Tiny houses, buses, stick build, buying an already built home and even yurts.

Our goal is to have a home base that we can make our own and be comfortable without breaking the bank and having to constantly stress over a high mortgage payment.

Isnt that everyone’s dream?

We strive to live simply so that we have more time to spend with each other and less time at work. Living in a non traditional home such as a Yurt is not for everyone and I get that.

Its different, it is beyond the norm and most people are scared to live that way.

I have been more intentional this year on accepting new ways of living and are more willing to be adventurous and try something that’s outside the box. A year ago I would have never explored anything but your average home. I was determined to live a specific way and refused to open my mind to alternative options.

I think that it is important that we open our minds more. The world we live in now offers many options for alternative living. Some people live in a van full time traveling all over, others live in tiny homes, yurts, micro homes or earth ships. I think that it’s awesome how more and more folks are leaning towards a Β non traditional lifestyle to break free of financial burdens and explore all that life has to offer outside of the 9-5.
