Let’s face it, We don’t always have the means or time off to travel and often times if you’re like me you begin to get antsy. You start feeling the urge to check your travel bucket-list, look up flights, Air b&b rates, and or begin prepping the tent and camping gear.

When I’m caught in the in-between travels I enjoy exploring my hometown. Turns out the old stomping ground is pretty awesome! There are so many ways to explore, adventure and enjoy what your hometown has to offer.

Touring locally has great advantages. You don’t need to fight lines at the airport, check in bags, find your hotel / locate the perfect campsite, or make sure the passport is up to date (although you should check it for when you are ready for the next big travel). All you need are a few little essentials and you’re good to go. Don’t forget the camera!

If you’re in-between travels and not sure when the next trip will be, why not explore and be a tourist in your hometown? Find the restaurants that you’ve yet to try, walk the downtown streets and admire the attractive architecture, hike new trails that you never knew existed, or take a moment to reflect at your favorite coffee shop. Appreciate where you’re from by seeing it from a different perspective.

The world we live in is awe-inspiring and the best part is you don’t have to leave your hometown to enjoy it, but if and when you do get a chance to catch that flight or hit the road, go for it!! In the meantime appreciate what is already all around you…..Life changing journeys don’t have to be too far away lands, they can be right at your doorstep, you just have to open the door. Your greatest adventure might just be closer than you think!
